Deborah Lynn Jacobs is the author of three thought provoking novels for young adults. She is pleased to tailor workshops to meet your needs.
PRESENTATIONS:
These are geared to grades 7 to 12, and run 45 to 90 minutes, including a question and answer period. Presentations/workshops for conferences or retreats are available upon request.
- Choices
In Choices, Kathleen shifts through alternate universes as a result of the decisions she makes. Join me for an interactive workshop about life’s choices, and a presentation about the scientific and creative decisions I made while writing Choices.
- Ten years to write a book?
I started Powers in my “apprenticeship period.” This presentation follows that journey, from initial premise to finished product, using props such as flowcharts, drafts, galleys, notes, and the ARC.
- Crafting a Great Story
You’ll need memorable characters, gripping conflict, an engaging plot, and satisfying character growth. Using examples, both from my own works and popular young adult fiction, I’ll give participants the tools they need to write great stories.
