"I always felt I was born into the wrong century," Patricia Curtis Pfitsch says.  Since she can’t change the year of her birth, she writes historical fiction instead.  “It’s like time travel.  I visit the setting of my novels, and tour historical sites, restored houses, and museums.  I read as many books as I can find on my subject.  I try to get a feel for what it was really like to live in the past so my novels will be accurate and believable.”  See photos of her research at her website.

Patty travels throughout the U.S. speaking about her books. “I take my audience into the past. I use slides and other visuals to evoke the landscape of my novels. I describe how I find hidden tales through historical research. I talk about writing and revising the manuscript.” She also offers writers workshops of varying lengths.
