I am the author of three books for teens with the fourth, Bluefish, scheduled for release from Candlewick Press in the fall of 2011.
I love to visit middle and high school classrooms and talk about a range of subjects, including creativity in general, favorite books, sensory detail in writing, and the fun and power of writing from the heart. I come armed with questions, games, and topics for discussion.
I am also happy to speak with adults on a variety of topics, including two that I can tailor as lecture or workshop:
- The Fictive Dream - How to enter the dream, stay there,
and transmit it to others
- Fierce Revision - Love your rewrites
